This week will be the last chance to see my work up at Tartine! It’s coming down next Wednesday.
As sad as I am for Aequum to come to a close, I am looking forward to Wednesday night. Why? I learned something when putting the show up: not a whole lot compares to being at Tartine after hours. No shortage of super cool ladies and phenomenal snacks.
The dyeing workshop at Gravel & Gold is full!
We’re going to have so much fun!

The Schacht Mighty Wolf has just come to stay.

Yardage!
This post could also be titled “A Gift from a Flower to a Garden” or perhaps “What the Soul Desires” or even “I Like You.” Babbette of The Found Photo kindly let me stay at her place last year while she was in New Orleans. It was lonely in the big loft but this image was hanging in the gallery and every day I wanted it:
Darling Donovan, a young, innocent, awkward Donovan.
Last night Babbette had her 10th annual NYD party. On the way I out I remarked that I was happy that Donovan was still there. She took it off the wall and handed it to me.
“There is a rapture-that my soul desires- there is a something that I cannot name. I know not after-what my soul aspires- nor guess from whence the restless longing came; but ever from my childhood have i felt it-in all things beautiful and all things gay-and ever has its gentle unseen presence fallen like a shadow cloud across my way.”
THANKS BABBETTE!
In two weeks…
“Join us on Martin Luther King Jr Day for a resist dying workshop with our friend and latest lady-inspiriation dye/quilt/color artist Ashley Thayer! Dye your own napkins or yardage for the Quilting Workshop.”
