I’m Ashley, I draw/paint/write/and live in Los Angeles, California with my husband and daughter.
I spent nearly a decade creating textiles (weaving and dyeing), collaborating with companies including Velvet by Graham & Spencer, Milena Silvano, and 69. I led dye workshops everywhere from storefronts, to private events, to the Los Angeles Public Library. I’ve created artwork for Consolidated Skateboards and the short story “Tummler's Dog” by Anne Lamott in a beautiful letterpress book called I Was There, in the collection of the Met Museum (where I long ago worked as an intern in Drawing and Prints cataloging 19th century pop-up books). I’m interested in imperfect, experience/process revealing imagery that our instinct knows to be connected to the human hand; meaningful and nourishing threads from one generation to the next.
